J&H Surf Charters full-color badge — shark, pier, and sunset

More Than a Catch. An Experience for a Lifetime.

We're a Galveston family that fishes for sharks the old way — from the sand — with one modern trick: we fly your baits past the breakers by drone. No boat. No seasickness. Just you, the surf, and the hardest pull of your life. Night fishing is our specialty.

No. 2 — Our Story

A Family Business,
in the Truest Sense

J&H is four partners and one family. Henri runs the business. Erica runs operations and keeps the reservation book. Jeff runs the fishing and the safety brief — nothing goes in the water until he says so. Ashley tells the story. We're building this the way you build anything meant to last: a legacy, through adventure.

We hold two rules over everything. Every shark swims home — strict catch-and-release, no exceptions. And we leave every beach cleaner than we found it.

No. 4 — The Keepsake

The Anglers Adventure Guide

Most charters end at the truck. Ours ends with a book. Every guest leaves with a personalized record of their trip — written up by the family, for you:

  • Conditionsthe tides, wind & surf you fished
  • Techniquesthe rigs we ran & the skills you learned
  • Speciesevery fish you brought to the sand

It isn't a souvenir. It's the manual — so the next time you stand on this beach, you can do it yourselves. Education is the point. That's the J&H way.

No. 5 — The Weather Desk

We Make the Weather Calls,
So You Don't Have To

Before every charter, Jeff reads the forecast, the tides, the wind, and the surf. If it isn't safe to operate, we don't fish — you reschedule, simple as that. On the beach we carry first aid, emergency equipment, and satellite communication, and every trip starts with a full safety briefing. Safety is the first item on our list. It's why it's in Jeff's job title.

No. 6 — The Ledger

Fair Questions, Straight Answers

Yes — with the same rule we hold our own family to. All ages are welcome with a responsible adult, and children are supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Every charter opens with a full safety briefing, our guides handle the sharks, and we carry first aid, emergency equipment, and satellite communication on every beach. You fish; we manage the risk.

We make every weather call — forecast, tides, wind, and surf — and if it isn't safe to operate, we don't fish. You'll be offered a reschedule to a new date. Deposits stay non-refundable if you'd rather not rebook, so our honest advice: take the rain check. The sharks will still be there.

Straight answer: it's fishing, and we won't insult you with a guarantee. What we can promise is a full beach camp, real hands-on instruction, a family working your trip from first cast to last, and an Anglers Adventure Guide to take home either way. Our name says it plainly — more than a catch.

A 20% non-refundable deposit reserves your date, and the balance is due at the beach. If we call your trip off for weather, your deposit moves with you to a new date.

Sunscreen, clothes for the weather, and a camera — you'll want it. Everything else is on us: rods, reels, tackle, bait, chairs, shade, coolers of water, and professional lighting after dark.

A standard charter hosts one family — about 5–6 guests. Bringing a bigger crew? We build custom trips with discounted group rates. Mention it when Erica reaches out from the priority list.
